Edition code - Identifier given by the vendor of a product. It serves as a way for the vendor to identify the edition contained within a product integration event during a subscription event. It is a free-form string with no validations on uniqueness. As such, it can be used to contain any information the vendor judges important to identify the edition. A vendor can use the edition code to enter the SKU of the physical product variant. Edition Code - A is a unique identifier assigned by the product's vendor to a product's edition. It is used during a product integration event, particularly when managing subscriptions, to specify the exact version or variant of a product. Although it is a free-form string and not enforced for uniqueness by the system, it plays a crucial role for vendors to track different editions. Vendors may choose to use this field to note the SKU for a product's specific physical variant.
