Subscription price change guide

Important

The GraphQL API for Product Associations is currently in Preview status for customers on the AWS-US cluster. For more information, see GraphQL API policy.

A subscription represents a customer's entitlement to a product and determines their access to that product, as well as their payment schedule. Existing subscription prices can now be changed by marketplace owners. This guide provides all of the necessary information for marketplace owners to change a price on an existing subscription using GraphQL APIs.

The workflow to change a price on an existing subscription is as follows:

  1. Step 1 - Create Price Definition - GraphQL API.

  2. Step 2 - Price Change - GraphQL API

note

The price definition must capture and store the range of prices associated with the subscription, including any to be changed or kept as is.

For subscriptions that have multiple recurring units, or price ranges all prices for the recurring units must be included in the new price definition.
